The Gift of Grace Freely Given To be astonished means to be surprised and impressed. Every day, Jesus is pouring out grace and mercy to us, and the Spirit is teaching us truth. Yet we can still experience the doldrums of the mundane. How can our hearts and minds be open to God’s beauty and love that are present in what’s ordinary? The dishes to be washed, the e-mails to be read, the bed to be made? The ordinary is sacred and ought to astonish. Today, let’s pray for the grace to feel astonishment for God’s love.
